East Tennessee Boxer Club is raising the bar throughout the upcoming year, with plans for new training seminars, charitable fundraisers, Mardi Growl, and of course our September Specialty Shows in Chattanooga.

Welcome to the East Tennessee Boxer Club Website and thanks for visiting us! The East Tennessee Boxer Club is a small breed specific club situated in the Knoxville, TN area.

The focus of the East Tennessee Boxer Club is upon the betterment of the boxer breed. Emphasis is highly placed on correct conformational standards described by the American Kennel Club, appropriate temperament, and health tested animals, including testing for Sub-Aortic Stenosis and Boxer Cardiomyopathy, according to the American Boxer Club Code of Ethics.

We have a network of friends nationwide as well as closer contacts throughout East Tennessee who work together to gather and share information on the Boxer breed. At monthly meetings, we discuss conformation, obedience, agility, health and wellness, as well as plan functions around the area. We have a great time at the annual Mardi Growl in February and our Boxer Blast every fall, and you can also find us at most of the southeast regional dogs shows including conformation shows, obedience, and agility trials.

Please email us or visit our Guestbook if you have any questions or want to meet with us.

We also have monthly meetings and our next meeting will be after the shows in Gray.  We will meet up at Concord Park in Farragut, TN at 4pm on Sunday, May 19th.  We will have a professional photographer available for pictures!  Our board meeting will also be the same day.

We had a great time at the BARK FOR LIFE event on Saturday, April 20th, at Concord Dog Park in Farragut, TN.  We got to show off and play with lots of different breeds, and for a good cause.

We had a fantastic time at our annual back-to-back Specialty Shows in Chattanooga, TN during September last year.  Enjoy these pictures, taken by our resident photographer Misty McKamey.

A big congratulation goes to our own Chili, Blue Monday's Red Hot Chilli Pepper, owners Lisa and Bobby Dyer, breeders Kim and Cliff Hall, for winning the 2012 ABC Unsung Hero award. Her dedicated work as a Therapy Dog goes above and beyond expectations. Thank you, Chili and Lisa...we're proud of you!

Unsung Hero Award”: Current members of ABC and members of member clubs submit names of people or Boxers who have contributed in an extraordinary way such as those who volunteer and work tirelessly in Boxer rescue, or countless other ways. An example of a Boxer who would be eligible for the Unsung Hero Award would be a Search and Rescue Boxer, such as the ones who worked at Ground Zero after 9/11, or a certified Therapy Dog who adds so much joy to peoples’ lives.

We have a new Ultimate Dog Stacker for those interested in conformation training.  Click on the name to see their website full of instructional videos and training tips.  This will aide in training the dog for the proper stacking positions.  It is designed to be adjustable or any size dog or puppy and will be rented to ETBC members on a monthly basis.

We have a new ALBA Holter monitoring vest for our members to use. The Holter monitor, named after its creator Dr. Norman Holter MD, records 24 hours of continuous heart rhythm (EKG or ECG) and heart rate (HR), while the dog goes about its normal daily activity in a home environment. The Holter is found to be a far superior test when compared to the 5-minute EKG, simply because of its 24-hour recording time.

The guidelines for the Holter use are as follows: you have to be a current ETBC member and on the list. When it's your turn to use the Holter, you must attend that month's meeting. There will be a $20 charge to use the Holter, plus a $20 deposit. You must attend the next month's meeting to return the Holter at which time you receive a $20 refund, less the fee for each kit used ($5 each). The SD card mist be returned erased or replaced, and report any damages. Members must sign an agreement to these guidelines and assume responsibility for the condition of the vest, monitor, wires. If it is your turn to use the Holter and you are not at that month's meeting, you will be placed at the bottom of the list, and the next available member that is on the list and in attendance will be able to use it.
